REPORTS
Minutes of the June 2009 meeting approved as distributed
Treasurer’s report approved as distributed showing a balance of $6692.23 as of June 8, 2009
Committees
1. KGHP: KGHP. Keith presented options for disbursing funds for equipment as follows:
Currently need to repair, replace or possiblye move the translator on Fox Island. Cost is estimated to be approximately $1000.00.
A new additional computer is needed to complete our onair studio storage equipment for immediate air-play for stored materials. Cost $1000.00.
Parts and service such as a direct telephone line record/play with 7-second delay.
Need to replace one CD player and also tests and alignment may be required this year to meet FCC standards. Cost up to $1500.
Unused funds are to be held for PEP-C decision on use. Keith will deliver check. Dave will write and deliver letter to PSD.
KGHP/PSD call numbers are changing from 89.3 to 93.7
Note: Regarding the $5000.00 still encumbered for equipment (see minutes September 2008): Since we need to actually sSpend some funds to keep with the spirit of a non-profit organization Dave suggested that Keith find a target for us to commit at least $3000.00 of these funds. He will bring back an option for the September meeting.
2. Davina announced they will need more volunteers October 21st for the earthquake exercise.
3. Debbie announced that Pierce County Emergency Management Preparedness Day will be held at Bates Technical College on October 17 from 9:00 to 3:00 with classes all day.
4. PSD: Moved and passed to allocate $500 for PSD school site emergency supplies, ie batteries, etc. Dave will contact Caroline at PSD.
The Peninsula Schools Education Foundation will hold a fund-raising breakfast at Canterwood October 6, 2009 at 7:00 a.m. ($50.00 a plate).
5. Water Barrels: Don reported an inventory of 30 barrels (for potable water) and 24 red barrels.
