Minutes from March 5th and June 6th meetings - approved
Treasurer's Report: approved as distributed
Note: $9000 is promised to the Peninsula School District towards purchase of generators equippming the Peninsula High School kitchen for emergency use for the public. This will deplete our funds but we expect more income from barrel sales, though they have not been brisk of late.
Dave Watson will follow up on the generator project. Keith Stiles said there was a KW of power there on site through KGHP that could be tapped.
Committees
1. KGHP: Frequency 104.5 is lost to us but we will be gaining a new frequency, 93.7, mid-winter.
2. Key Peninsula Safety Fairs: After the preparedness events on the Key Peninsula, it is clear the Key Peninsula residents are very prepared, especially in the area of water storage. Gretchen Wilbert offered to contact the Red Cross regarding pre-screening of potential shelter sites on the Key Peninsula.

PROJECTS
1. Library: The attempted cooperation with the Friends of the Library to put on a preparedness month and events at Peninsula Library had to be postponed due to time constraints. Because Dave Watson and Don Lee will be out of town for the months around the proposed re-schedule and because of the time demands of a shifting project, it was proposed we tell the Friends we cannot commit to the project at this time. Perhaps at a later date when the parameters are better defined, we will see if we have the manpower to manage it. JoAnne Gray is to report this desicion to Patty Kennedy.
2. Home Depot: We received an email from our local Home Depot offering to partner with us in community service and manpower. JoAnne Gray willcontact the lead person and choose possible meeting times for those who want to participate. PEP-C members willing to serve are: JoAnne Gray, Dave Watson, Marv Nauman, Gretchen Wilbert, Don Lee, Keith Stiles and Jeanne Roberts. Hugh McMillan will handle any publicity.
Possible focuses for the project include a goal of all employess being prepared, work parties securing furniture and equipment in citizens' homes, stocking a display case of survival items.
Keith Stiles wondered if they might underwrite KGHP in exchange for publicity of their contributions.
Elections
Elections were held to elect posts that expired this year. The results are as follows:
- Dave Watson agreed to continue as General Chair
- Marv Nauman accepted appointment as Vice Chair
- Jeanne Roberts accepted appointment as Secretary, replacing Sue Gillmore, who moved to Texas in August. Sue will continue as Webmaster from Texas.
Special Presentation
The remainder of the evening was turned over to Marv Nauman who presented a slide show highlighting the 9-1/2 months he spent in Louisiana working the aftermath of hurrican Katrina. Marvin was in a key position to document the horrors of the hurricane and its aftermath. His pictures were stunning!
