Committees
1. KGHP: Keith distributed copies of his letter regarding underwriting given to KGHP (Peninsula School district) for discussion. Our current updated plans were presented showing a total of $3500 in funds to be used by KGHP. A motion was made and passed that we accept Keith’s recommendations as outlined in his letter.
2. A motion was made and passed that we disperse the $500. allocated to buy school site emergency supplies. Dave reported his purchase of 5 pop-up canopies for school evacuation shelters. He will write the two donation letters and deliver them to PSD along with the 5 canopies.
3. December 16, 2009 Letter to Terry Bouck, Superintendent Peninsula School District regarding PEP-C donation for KGHP projects:
Dear sir,
This is to inform you that PEP-C is withdrawing our promise of $5000.00 to be used by KGHP for Emergency Transfer Equipment. We would like to replace that promise with a check for $3500 to be used for the following KGHP PROJECTS:
1. $200 for a new “Small Board” for Studio “B”
2. $1000 for a new “Back-Up Computer for all station automation
3. $1600 for eight months of Internet Streaming Service
4. $300 for services as required for a back-up hard drive for the existing computer program which provides 23/7/365 station operation.
5. $400 for engineering services to facilitate the movement of the translator K207AJH (89.3MHz) to an improved service location.
Our committee appreciates the work of Keith Stiles as he helps to support our goals of community preparedness. As part of your community we are looking for more ways to invest in the PSD efforts to be prepared for emergency events.
Sincerely,
Dave Watson, PEP-C Chair
4. December 16, 2009 Letter to Terry Bouck, Superintendent Peninsula School District regarding PEP-C canopies donation for PSD Emergency Plan:
Dear Sir,
The Peninsula Emergency Preparedness Committee is pleased to support the PSD Emergency Plan with a donation of five Pop-Up Canopies valued at $541.95. These units are for school site emergency evacuation stations. Suggested uses include Site Command Centers, Triage Points or Victim Treatment Stations. I would suggest that they be clearly labeled by site and purpose. Past experience has shown me that these units tend to move to the sports endeavors. If this works into your emergency plans we will continue to provide these units as our funds allow.
Our sole source of funding is through the sale of water storage barrels by our volunteers. No PEP-C funds are used to reimburse our committee members.
Sincerely,
Dave Watson, PEP-C Chair
