REPORTS
Minutes of January 19, 2009 meeting were approved as distributed.
Treasurer’s report accepted as distributed, showing a balance of $6158.18 as of April 13, 2009 with an unemcumbered balannce of $1158.18.
Committees
1. KGHP: Keith Stiles reported that Radio KOMO (1000) is now the official emergency radio station. He led a discussion of the importance of good communication between the parties during and after a disaster.
2. Barrel Sales: Don Lee reported that the barrel sales program moves ahead with sales of $1375.00 since last meeting. We have the new red barrels on hand for sale. They can be used for storage of dry materials—food, clothing, etc. Dave announced there will be a church visit to the warehouse Thursday, April 16 from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. for the sale of 39 plus barrels
3. Webmaster: Progress on new website continues.
Community Events
1. Don Lee reported on the recent GH Health and Safety Fair, saying it was worth going to. Our best service would be in connection with PC-Net , and we should plan to do this in 2010.
2. Davina Nolton reported on the St. Anthony’s Hospital opening and showed slides of the equipment as well as volunteers in action in a demonstration of disaster recovery procedures. There will be a meeting on April 16th to plan for the Drill.
3. Don discussed upcoming plans for an Earthquake Drill involving St. Anthony’s, Pen Light and the prison. Training meeting on October 21. On October 22 there will be a ‘hot wash’ training for plans for after a disaster.
4. On June 27th there will be a Harbor Place Health Fair at Cottesmore as per GHH&S.
5. Bates – “All Aboard the Pierce County Train” on October 27th . from 9:00 to 3:00. We will try to have a part in this. A committee consisting of Dave, Don, Marv and Hal will meet to make plans.
6. PenLight has indicated a need for earthquake preparation information for its staff. We can help here.
